The FieldScout TDR250 Soil Moisture Meter is the most economic option that measures Soil Moisture (VWC - Volumetric Water Content) and Surface Temperature. The backlit display allows for easy reading even in the early morning hours. TDR rods are sold separately and are REQUIRED. Choose from 1.5" (3.8cm), 3" (7/6cm), 4.8" (12.2cm) and 8" (20cm) rods to match your needs. Data can be collected with a USB flash drive. (Case is NOT included)

HYPROP is an advanced laboratory and field instrument used to determine the soil water retention curve (SWRC) with high precision. It allows simultaneous measurement of soil water tension and volumetric water content, giving researchers, soil scientists, and agronomists accurate data on soil hydraulic properties. The system uses a combination of tension table and automatic data logging to continuously record soil moisture release curves for both disturbed and undisturbed soil samples. This helps in irrigation planning, soil physics research, hydrology studies, and environmental assessments.

The SWM 5000 is a high-precision handheld soil moisture and temperature measurement system designed for both field and laboratory use. Based on the advanced FDR (Frequency Domain Reflectometry) technology, it delivers rapid, reliable measurements of volumetric soil moisture content while simultaneously measuring soil temperature via an internal NTC sensor.

Equipped with a robust stainless-steel probe (available in lengths up to 1000 mm / 20 mm) for manual or hydraulic insertion, the SWM 5000 allows deep-layer profiling of soil moisture—ideal for irrigation management, precision agriculture, soil research and environmental monitoring.

Smart-integration is provided through the ‘SWM Companion’ smartphone app (Android/iOS) enabling wireless Bluetooth 4.2 data transfer, field data logging, measurement scheduling and GPS-tagged field mapping.

Whether used for stand-alone handheld probing or mounted measurement systems in agricultural vehicles, the SWM 5000 helps you optimize water use, better understand soil moisture dynamics and enhance yield potential.

The Xtreem multi-profile soil moisture recording kit comes with everything you need to get started. There is no need to open the logger to get your data out as it wirelessly connects to your phone/tablet. With extended battery life there is even less need to open the logger. The batteries are now relatively eco friendly Alkaline which makes them easier to purchase and dispose of.  Your data is stored in a cloud database provided by AWS ( Amazon Web Services ). There is a small annual charge for this of NZ$15.
