The Tensiometer Tube - an inexpensive tube filled with water. It has a porous ceramic tip at the bottom and a rubber stopper in the top (see diagram). This tube is installed into the ground where you want to measure the soil moisture.
The auge - a very accurate electronic vacuum gauge. This is used to measure the vacuum (or suction) at the top of the tubes. The Standard Gauge (Model SST101G) reads the vacuum in the tensiometer tube. You note down the readings and add this to your plots of soil moisture. The Computer Gauge (Model SST102G) stores readings along with the tube ID. time and date. This is downloaded to your PC using the Moisture Plot software, supplied with the gauge.
The System - A complete system consists of several monitoring sites around the area to be irrigated. Each site needs two or three tubes of different lengths. This allows for the monitoring of soil moisture at various depths and movement of moisture through the soil during the irrigation cycle. Tensiometers results are read and recorded regularly. Graphed figures from each tube provide an accurate picture of soil moisture.

Soil water sampler are most typically used to extract soil water samples from varying depths in the root zone of crops under drip irrigation that undergo frequent fertigation. For measuring nitrate levels, Salinity, EC or other chemical elements commonly associated with soil water management in irrigation (fertigation) regimes. Allow you to take full advantage of residual and mineralized nitrogen by delaying or minimizing fertilizer applications. Monitoring below the root zone can verify the presence of nitrate leaching.

The Hood-Infiltrometer by Umwelt‑Geräte‑Technik GmbH (UGT) is a field-grade instrument designed to measure near-saturated and unsaturated soil hydraulic conductivity and infiltration under natural conditions. It consists of:
· a sealed hood placed directly on the soil surface (open at the bottom) that is filled with water, forming a defined circular infiltration source area;
· a Mariotte water supply system – an infiltration vessel, bubble tower and aeration tube to maintain a constant pressure head;
· a U-tube manometer (and optionally pressure sensors) to precisely record the hydraulic pressure head at the soil surface;
One of its key advantages is that no contact layer (such as sand or filter cloth) is required between the hood and the soil surface, enabling infiltration tests with minimal disturbance and more realistic boundary conditions.

The WP4C Soil/Plant Water-Potential Meter from METER Group is a high-precision laboratory instrument designed to measure total water potential (matric + osmotic) in soils, soilless substrates, plant tissues and other porous materials. It uses the chilled-mirror dew-point method, where a small sealed chamber equilibrates with the sample’s vapor, and a finely-controlled mirror is cooled until dew forms. Both the mirror and sample temperature are measured to determine the sample’s water potential with exceptional accuracy.
